Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration – This federal agency passes and enforces truck safety regulations covering issues such as the maximum amount of time a driver can spend on duty or behind the wheel in any one stretch, as well as size and weight limits for trucks and other aspects of commercial vehicle safety.
